Taurus, the Bull, is the second sign of the Zo­di­ac. The sun enters it on or around April 20. Tau­rus belongs to the ele­ment earth, its quality is fixed and its charge is negative. Its Ruler is Venus, and the moon exalts in it. Its motto is: "I have." In the horo­scope chart, Taurus brings a slow stubborn­ness and a materialistic per­spective to planets or Houses therein.

Those who have Taurus as their star sign are born when the sun was in Taurus, normally April 20 - May 20 (it differs slightly from year to year, be­cause of the leap years). Therefore, it is also - more correctly - called the sun sign.
